Nicolas’ images emerge from a precise play with light, colour and framing—balancing clarity with intimacy, combining simplicity with depth to create distinctive visuals. Working both digitally and on analogue medium format and 35mm film, he treats each medium as a language with its own character.

At the heart of his practice lies a close connection with the people and places he photographs. Each encounter is approached as an act of trust, allowing authenticity to surface. Nicolas finds inspiration in the quiet, often fleeting moments of life, and in photography’s ability to distil complexity into a single image. The result is a body of work that feels lucid and intense, with an aesthetic presence that often unfolds in stillness and quiet beauty—opening space for emotion, longing and reflection.
